With Local, you and your friends can build a map of their city filled with first-hand reviews and content to share.
Built from interviews and research, I designed the MVP of Local as a map and group-based collaborative platform that makes food and local experiences a fun and collaborative adventure.

Share your thoughts, photos, videos, and even playlists with friends in private groups and discover the best spots in town through a visually engaging map experience. Say goodbye to relying on strangers and hello to tried and true recommendations from people you trust.
Most review apps are driven by a large community of strangers who, let's be honest, don't know you that well… searching for a good spot to eat via these large review apps means a high level of analysis paralysis and a low level of accuracy per your tastes.
If you want the best and most exciting recommendations, you go to friends over strangers. The problem is that pestering friends for recommendations isn't always easy or fun and there is always the possibility of missing out on hidden gems.
Unlike other review apps that rely on a vast community of strangers, Local is driven by a select group of your friends.
More doesn't equal merrier when it comes to finding the best and most exciting places. Trust the ones who know you best and say goodbye to the hassle of pestering friends for recommendations.

Local centers around a map experience where private groups of users generate pins by leaving restaurant reviews — slowly filling in the map. Users can leave a written review, upload pictures and videos, or even tag playlists to nail the vibe. Rather than relying on strangers for recommendations, Local crowd-sources them from people you actually know.

The sign up experience collects key data for account creation and lets users set up a minimal profile to get them started.

The main tabs are focused experiences where users can navigate to key tasks and quickly find key lists.
User and group profiles
The profiles help create the social aspect of the app where users can engage with other members and member groups.
Location profiles
The location profiles are the heart of the app experience where users can collaboratively build out a location with reviews, content, and more.
